Popular Post Li Bai Posted June 9, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 9, 2024 Once every other year I forget that the Vegafina brand has never worked for me. I came across this 46 a couple weeks ago and as I love the vitola and they looked pretty good (and above all no CCs were available), I fell for it. Again. What a cr*ppy cigar... One of the most insignificant smoke i can recall, tied with a Don Tomas robusto. 1st third: nothing. 2nd third: nothing. 3rd third: I think I can taste....uhh....nothing. Why, why would I light this one up.... I feel like I've wasted a sunny Sunday afternoon and now I have no time left to smoke a real cigar. Why do you do this to me Vegafina, why ? It's over now, I will never come to you again... 4 4
JohnS Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 So VF stands for "very frustrating" in English, or « vraiment frustant » en français ? 😂 1 2
KCCubano Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 I tried a Vega Fina 1988 VF 54 a couple years ago and it was atrocious. Funny as I have seen a few decent reviews. I may have had a dud. 1
Jerryvonkramer Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 I like the standard VF corona. This is the only cigar I’ve ever had that tastes like butter. But I like butter. Not as good in the Robusto. VF seems to be the one brand stocked by every single Deli or off license which has a half-baked humidor in the corner. At least here in U.K.

I've been reading my "review" again this morning and I realised I'm being unfair to VF, I recall smoking some of their Nicaragua line and they're not all bad. There's even a minuto that's quite enjoyable. It's that 1998 line that's really disappointing to me.
Arabian Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 I tried the regular one. Boring cigar indeed. It's good for those who want to quit smoking cigars 😄. 1
VeguerosMAN Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 I rather have bad tasting cigars over no tasting cigars.

Li Bai Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 Lucky you. This Don Tomas brand might be branded differently in the US. 🤔
SCgarman Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Vega Fina is not available in the US market. Sounds like no big loss.

Well, as @KCCubano said before, I too have seen some decent reviews. They're cheap so they're easy to try and toss away if they're not to your taste.
loose_axle Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 I really like the VF 1998 line. However I find they need a year to year and a half down to hit their stride. My experience anyhow. 1

Just kidding, I have a couple of those left, I'll let them sleep quietly for a year or two and I'll get back to you 😉 1

I also go for the 54 ring gauge...that may make a difference. I haven’t touched their smaller ring gauges 🤙🏻 1

I remember I was just getting into cigars when they made CA's top 25 so I bought a couple and got pissed when I went to smoke them because they tasted like a wet fart. With that being said, I like vegafina, I picked all of mine up for $30 a ten pk. They are good for that price range. If I had to pay more for them I would pass.

Their Nicaragua line is pretty muck ok, even for my taste.
GerardMichaelTX Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 For guys who smoke more New World than Cubans they're not the worst. 1

Cigarsmoker81 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 I don’t find the 1998 that bad. I wouldn’t hunt them down but every now and then I would buy a single and throw it in the singles humidor.
