Corona 2019 (Feb24 Reverse Blind Cigar)

Right off the bat, haven’t had one of these puppies in a while. Had some construction issues with this batch and unfortunately this one was no different. Burn was impeccable, but the draw was like drawing a golf ball through a garden hose. Perfect draw did its best, but the wrapper picked up a crack that thankfully didn’t unravel the whole stick.

Flavor profile thankfully was solid. Opening third was flush with a soft cedar and sweet cream. This opened up into some almonds, coffee with cream. One thing in the first third I wasn’t expecting (and haven’t gotten in a long time) was a district cayenne pepper, but only on the tongue.

The second third was much of the same except the red pepper dropped away, as did the coffee. The only real transition of the stick also happened here, with a light shortbread and milk chocolate joining the profile. Thats where things wrapped up unfortunately, as the draw entering the final third completely failed on me. With that I called it quits on this stick, which is a huge bummer as I’ve had super high hopes on these. Until next time though!

Surprised nobody got this one. It was a Quai D’Orsay Coronas Claro with a box date/code of TUA Nov 2021. 

I bought these as singles from EGM way back and after smoking 2-3 of the bunch, I’ve been really disappointed all around. The draws have been a pain in the ass and with such fragile wrappers, doing any tinkering with my PD leads to splits.

Me too! Don’t think I’ve ever gotten that on a CC before. Wasn’t flavor so much as sensation.
