Am I weird for liking these?

I was intrigued by these initially and find them to my liking. Great with coffee in the morning. The smell I guess could be off putting. Like Durian fruit?

It's fire cured Kentucky tobacco. It has a real sweetness to the smoke. Definitely on the strong side. Like me 😁

Toscano Antico is a great cigar in its own way! I prefer the extra vecchio 😉

Personally, I don't think they smell like durian fruit, more like a chimney fire.

I wouldn’t say anyone is weird for liking anything, in fact I’d say the weird people are the ones that care what others think of their opinion.

Yes they do! I like the Antico but preferred the classico myself. I'd be willing to sample others. But I think at the price point these are cool.

I've only purchased one 5 pack and I'd say they remind me of those candy Circus Peanuts, I shouldn't like them, I don't know why I like them, I just do. I'm good for half a cigar at a time. They smoke slowly, so that it's enough for me before I get either bored or overwhelmed by the nicotine punch.

It's in there. I don't think these are for everyone as they aren't mild. I'd call them full-bodied.

No you’re not; I love the Extra Vecchios (or however it’s spelt). I need to be in the mood for them but they do hit differently. Gives that Clint Eastwood feeling, and you can hold it in the corner of your mouth like him through the whole smoke without ruining it due to the thick wrapper/binder. Same applies for transport; you’re not going to damage one by dropping it or otherwise mishandling it. They are rugged and feel that way, and you’ll feel that way when you smoke them. I get nice notes of leather, smoking wood (mesquite specifically), dried fruit and a honey sweetness.

They sure do. I smoke one now and then. I have bunch, but that's how they're sold online. There's a fancier series in a nice wooden box. Figuardo that's impressively slow burning and actually a terrific smoke.

My cousin's husband is Italian. He loves them. Are they the type that you cut in half and are tapered wider in the middle where you cut them?

Yes. I tend to smoke them whole most of the time. They are perfect quick smokes cut in half.

They're made to share and imo they're really great cut in half, I've tried to smoke them whole or à la Philippe Noiret ( late French actor who was a notorious cigar aficionado) cutting both ends a little, but it doesn't work for me, it gives a strange brine vibe that ruins it for me. I've smoked hundreds of these so I'll give you a piece of advice:

DO NOT STORE THEM IN YOUR HUMIDOR ! They're made to be smoked dry and their smell is very strong.

I liked those when a smoked them years ago, I underestimated them at first but oh boy, they are punchy.

@Ford2112 Not necessarily weird just for liking, but certainly weird in liking them that much and getting that many!!!

I will fess I ran out of cigars on a small quiet Greek island holiday a few years ago and smoked the last few days out with these Toscanos.... 

Tried Backwoods yet? Originals and sweet aromatics ... bit of a guilty pleasure... 😊

Going to Italy in March 14. I was thinking of picking up a few of whatever it is they like.  What premium cigars do the Italians smoke? I’ve only seen these Toscanos. Do they have any nice long filler cigars for the humidor which are tasty and good back for buck? To go with whatever Cubans I bring back?

Actually there are premium Toscanos ! I can't tell you much about it as I haven't tried any but if you like those, you might want to give it a try 😉
