Diaz-Canel Orders Farmers to Produce More Milk

The Minister of Internal Trade said that due to the shortage, milk sales for children under seven years of age will be reduced in February.

HAVANA TIMES – Drop the “inertia” and “work harder” were the instructions given this Thursday by Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel on his tour of the municipality of Consolación del Sur, in Pinar del Río, as part of his official tour of the regions of the Island that “do not work well.” Between scolding for the lack of commitment and the inefficiency of industries that are not looking for “alternative” means to replace imports, the president touched on a sensitive issue in the country’s critical panorama: the shortage of milk.66

Appears he is not the minister of agriculture - otherwise he’d be aware, it takes a bit more than simply to “work harder” to produce more milk...

I suspect the minister of agriculture likely did tell him that because he was recently fired!

When I stayed at the Grand Aston there was plenty of milk, so much you could take a bath in it. I guess that's what they need it for. The public does not get milk as you and I know it. They only get it in powdered form, even in the parallel markets. John
