The Ritz in Abu Dhabi has a cigar lounge, but the cigars are quite humid. Dubai Duty Free use to have amazing cigars and they'd open the boxes for you. I heard there's next to nothing. Abu Dhabi cigar Duty Free is a joke. A cousin of mine went to Beirut this summer and even that Duty Free was down to nothing. They don't even offer a free lighter or cutter when buying a box without asking. I've mentioned this before on threads, I can really see Dufry et al closing their walk-in's globally. Expand Just got back from Dubai. Duty free empty. The walk in Dubai is closed. The jrb LCDH had Siglo 4&5, Reyes and lots of.club king and NC. Very sad to see compare to 2019. 2

Uwiik Posted November 8, 2023 Author Posted November 8, 2023 I think the price volatility caused all these problems… it is too profitable to stock up as much as you can on CC no walk in stores can keep any on stock… Who am I kidding… off course I just had to have it…date stamp is a bit smudged due to my aggressive scrubbing with 96% iso alcohol… damage is US$2100 flat..I will see this box again in 5 years 1
gustavehenne Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Sell them on Bond Roberts. I amassed a large collection of Cohiba and Trinidad whilst the prices were 'low' and whilst I love a CoRo, CoLa, Fundadores etc. I would rather pay off a sizeable chunk of my mortgage. Regios, Choix Supreme, Punch Punch, D4 etc. etc. offer some amazing smoking experiences at a fraction of the price. I had a Coronas Especiales the other day and it was probably a 100-pointer - an amazing stick rolled by the hand of God him/herself - would I pay over 1,2k a box? Absolutely not. Can I afford It? Yes. I just don't see the price-value ratio. To top it off, you'll likely get several 'bad' ones (badly constructed or bad tasting) and you do start resenting Tabacuba/HSA... 1

Expand I am of similar sentiment. I'll inevitably sell off my fancy stuff as the regular marcas are just fine by me.

sw15825 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 I loved my Coro to max of $20 per stick to possibly $25 per for Laugito. The last cabs from 2013 and 14 are outstanding. I haven't bought a cab past the 2014's. I won't pay the coin now. They do need 5 years to get into their best imo. Most Cohiba. 2

I have 4-5 boxes open and they should last for many years as I see dollar signs when I think about smoking one. Kind of sucks that it comes down to that, but I'd be lying if I promoted a different reality. 1

I don't want to go to my humidor and pick up a Cohiba or Trinidad and think about what the replacement cost will be. You may be able to afford it but still. I can live with that. 1

Although I thought I wouldn't, with Cohiba I share a bit of your sentiment with regards to one of my CoRo boxes--to the point that I haven't cracked it despite it smelling like heaven (and hitting 5 years). That one may just go to market--especially since it's part of the way to a gravel bike that I want.
Ford2112 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 I smoked every last Cohiba I had with the idea of never buying them again. I love a good Siglo 2 and Coro, but at these prices forget it. I may buy Trinidad again if I see the right deal.
