Cuban president calls on increasing food production

Havana, Oct 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel defined as a priority of the country to increase national food production. This was said in the most recent session of the Council of Ministers, as informed today by the Presidency of the Republic.

The main call at this time has to be to produce more with our own effort, talent, capabilities and potential, there is no other way out, because there are no magic measures that can change from one moment to another, in the short term, the current situation that the country is experiencing, he said.

The head of state emphasized that although the blockade imposed by the United States is seriously affecting Cuba, several potentialities exist in different places and territories that have not yet been taken advantage of.

He considered it essential to promote popular participation in all processes and encourage an active dialogue with the population.

During the meeting with the highest leadership of the Government, the dignitary discussed the analyses carried out, this month, with the provincial bureaus of the Communist Party and the governors in all the territories where the commitments made to overcome the economic situation that Cuba is going through were evaluated.
