Thought the fishing topic could use a bump.

Off fishing for steelhead next week on British Columbia's Central Coast. Always good to be prepared. I hope these sticks last the week! Maybe even share one or two with a like-minded friend.

Yes, I smoke a lot when I fish, and yes, I smoke when I am fishing. I exclusively skate dry flies for summer run steelhead. The takes are heart stopping. The memories etched forever in your brain.

And yes, better be prepared for grizzlies, too.

Fishing these days means being ready for fires and dangerous critters. Though I don't usually pair my cigars with bear bangers, turned out I needed to when this grizzly invited himself to a steak dinner. He didn't stick around. I didn't offer him a smoke.
