Popular Post Low Posted August 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted August 6, 2023 Very mellow pre-light aroma, nothing much off the foot or through the draw besides tobacco. This review is very much a tale of two halves, so that's how I am going to write it. Straight cut, torched, paired with ice water. First Half - This thing is light. If there was a word below light, I'd use that. There is almost no flavors to speak of, even the tobacco flavor is barely a suggestion. Towards the middle I start to get a slight floral thing going on, with a hint of grassiness, but other than that it's almost pure air. At least the burn is razor sharp, and the smoke output is high. Second Half - The cigar takes a drastic turn towards straight flowers, grassiness, very light baking spice, unroasted hazelnut, and marshmallows. Very much like an Epicure No 1 took a frolic through a flower field. 5.2/10 - 5 is average is on my scale, so this one was just a nudge above that. Without the perfect construction, it would've fallen below, probably close to a 4. The first half tasted as though it had gone completely stale, and I had feared that I was finally experiencing a cigar that was past its prime. Second half was a massive improvement, but not necessarily for my taste. I like a little bit of something floral, but pure flowers isn't something I enjoy. This is why I tend to avoid R&J almost entirely, since rosewater is the devil. 5
