Dwamon Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Hi all, Looking into a fan on my deck. Many are too noisy. Looked into a portable misting fans, but I don't have a hose hookup, it's 2 floors below, and also worry about the cigars getting wet. Figured I'd come on here and see what's worked for others? SMELTZ Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Minka-Aire Extreme H2O. You can’t hear any thing at full speed and they range from 65” and up. Lots of colors to choose from even a Nickel Finish. 1
Fuzz Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Can't use a ceiling fan? I have two Hunter Pacific Radical 2 ceiling fans beneath my pergola. Very quiet, until you get up to speed setting 5 (max is 6). But even on max, they are still quieter than a pedestal fan on max. For such a quiet 3 blade fan, the volume of air they move is huge. And the reverse mode is great for pulling the smoke up through the roof. 1

Lomey Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 The ceiling fan works when I'm sitting under the covered part of my deck. When I'm under just the umbrella, a good old cheap oscillating fan moves the air enough for me. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
MickVanWinkle Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 I’ve got a couple small (16”) drum fans in my gym that work well on my uncovered deck - the low setting is powerful and relatively quiet to get a nice breeze over the full deck. 1
Glass Half Full Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 I have two of the Big Ass Fan "Haiku" models on the deck -- https://bigassfans.com -- very efficient -- almost too much wind as it can affect your cigar if you have it set too high. They're not cheap but they do stand behind their warranty. I had both replaced after about 8-9 years of service due to some problems caused by rust from the sea air; free replacements, though paid for the workman, of course. I was impressed with the customer service, and enjoy the deck in summer thanks to those fans! Hope that's helpful.
SMELTZ Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Can't live outdoors without my Hessaire Swamp Cooler. Drops temps around 15 degrees with water hose hook up and float valve.
