El Presidente Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Trinidad la Trova Try to take price out of the equation .....I mean, Trova personally had nothing to do with cigarmageddon and the evil geniuses La Trova. One of the first of the wave of "super Trinidads". What has been your experience? Trinidad La Trova Do you like Trinidad La Trova Where does it stand compared to other similar cigars. Have you noticed a blend/flavour/body change over the years? If so, approximately when? How long does it take you to smoke a Trinidad La Trova Do the poll! Popular Post JohnS Posted April 24, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 24, 2023 I smoked one a week and a half ago, after leaving my box rest for some time (i.e. not far off two years since my last Trinidad La Trova). I noted the following in regard to its development... "In regards to strength, since it's been almost two years since I've had the cigar, I must say that it has certainly mellowed more to be well below medium, but not quite mild, if you get what I mean. How did it taste at five-and-a-half years of age? It was still swathed in butter, salty and had light elements of milk coffee, Earth and leather. However, this time around the dough flavour was more on the sweeter side. Oh, and it goes without saying that I also nubbed it until the very last ¼ inch, just like the last time!" So, in summary, they're just getting better. 5
Wookie Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 When they came out they seemed mild and alien to the core Trini flavors. I, too, let them rest for the last couple of years and they now seem consistent and I’ve enjoyed the recent two sticks I’ve smoked. So I believe they are getting better with age. 2
havanaclub Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 They are awesome, just had one last night 2018 box, and it was as good as my first one…maybe even better. Buttery smooth with classic trinny flavours. I would not touch them today with the price tag, as a matter of fact I was thinking of selling a box on BR. I think they have aged very well! Ford2112 Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 I wish I didn't love them but I do. One of the few special release habanos I'll seek out. Pricey.
NSXCIGAR Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Without doubt the mildest Trini. Very refined and silky smooth. Pure class. A bit too refined for me but I could see how many would consider the La Trova the best Trini.
