Popular Post BlueRidgeFly Posted April 16, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 16, 2023 It's one of those days when it might rain, slightly humid, 80 degrees F, and I'm debating whether a cigar is even a good plan. Great time for a Party Short! Light wrapper, like a Russet potato. Stored at 62 rh and 65 degrees for weeks. Punch cut, delivers a perfect draw. Starts out light, pound cake and mild coffee. Refined and kind of classy, not a typical Short! These suckers seem to vary quite a bit. But coming up on five years old may be helping this one, too. Second third is much the same, plus a faint floral aroma, some baking spice, and slightly richer overall. Really good. I've had plenty of CCs, especially robustos, where I could easily be convinced I'm smoking something else, like a D4, RASS, Epi 2, BRC, etc. when it could be banded as one of the others for all I know... so maybe someone grabbed some leaf meant for a Trinidad Reyes and rolled this one up 🤷♂️ I've often wondered how much raw material is shared among blends in Cuba. I wonder even more nowadays--they can't keep supply levels up, but somehow have plenty of the top-shelf Cohiba and Trinidad in stock in so many places. Anyway, this is one of the best Shorts I've had. Final third continues without any change. Fine by me. Perfect construction too, one minor touch up midway with the torch despite a variable breeze. Fifty minutes to the nub. 93/100 👍 9 3
