Matanzas, Cuba, Mar 7 (Prensa Latina) The Eladio de Marcos Hernandez rum factory in the Cuban province of Matanzas plans to increase production of Perla Norte rum for export, specifically to China, in 2023.

the factory, located in the municipality of Cardenas, produces three derivatives of Perla Norte, namely Carta Blanca, Carta Oro and Añejo, which it expects to export to the Chinese market for the benefit of the national economy.

Leidi Almeida, director of the factory, which belongs to the Cuba Ron S.A. corporation, said that this year, they also expect to increase the presence of Varadero rum in Europe, especially in Italy.

Almeida added that in 2023, 1,500 hectoliters of Varadero rum will be produced, in addition to 15,000 cases of that brand and Perla del Norte, which are recognized as the flagship product of the enterprise, one of the most important in the Cuban rum industry.

Ive been seeing this stuff everywhere the last year or so(the perla norte brand), I've only tried the Anejo. It was NOT good, very cheap, almost fake tasting. Between the price, super simple packaging and their plan to ship most of it to China, it doesnt appear to be much more than a money maker for Pernod Richard.

I did however LOVE the Eminente I tried, it also appears to only be made for export. (Maybe specifically to France?) but it was TASTY. It appears to be very reasonably priced in Europe at sub 50 pounds a bottle, but shipping to the states is at least that much.

I thought this was about a cigar in the RG Perlas size made by Ron Perlman?
