Popular Post tywindsor44 Posted January 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2023 The freezing winter hero IMO. With a ring gage of 44 and only 90mm long, these have been a regular grab due to the temperatures here in Colorado. This time of year, if I don’t have access to a lounge or a warm garage I tend to lean toward a smaller stick. Cold draw: mostly a lite earth tone with some mild ceded mixed on the back end. Easy to take in and no “poking” needed. First third: mild cedar, with a bit of spice on the exhale. Definitely more of a standard “traditional” cigar. Maybe I haven’t let them age enough but nothing to overwhelming on the first third. Second third: Very mild hints of cedar and cocoa. I would even go as far as saying it’s more comparable to a Mexican cocoa with the spice profile. Last third: deep traditional tobacco flavor. Runs a little warm and packs a small little punch. I was able to snag the 2 box deal and for what I paid then I’m extremely happy with these little cigars and what they bring to the table. I know I’m not the only one who deals with freezing weather, and when you can’t light up a 2 hour cigar… these little ones do just the trick. Overall, I scored this a 71/100. I think they need some more rest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 10
Michael303 Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Hey, I'm in CO too. I agree with the short smokes during winter. I've got a decent exhaust setup in the basement but it's unfinished down there and not a great place to spend much time.

MrBirdman Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 These don’t start hitting their stride until at least 3 years. If you can give them time you’ll be rewarded on future frigid evenings.
Tunkat92 Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Thanks for the review! and they always seem to do better with a good amount of age.
KCCubano Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 I recently cracked open a box of 19s. Some inconsistency but overall there have been a few 90 pointers. Going to let em rest another year or so before sample again. Have 20s and 21s I have yet to touch.

It's not much to look at but it's not the freezing garage or a tent outside and everyone does leave me alone. 😁👍
Lamboinee Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 I've smoked quite a few from 2022 boxes with no total dog turds yet. A few of them have had burns that were less than razor straight and some have been more papery than others. But, several have been fairly tasty. I also have some from two different boxes from 2017. When I have some time I am looking forward to lining up several examples from 2022 and 2017 and smoking them in the same day for comparison. Of the 2022's I've smoked, I would probably rate all them higher than a 71/100 with exception of one that would have been better used as a road flare imo. Was there anything in particular causing the 71 score? I agree that the 2022's are less tasty than 2017's I have smoked, from what I remember. But, I haven't smoked a 2017 in a while.

It’s really really difficult for me to allow a cigar to get into the 90s. I take into account everything. The price, the smell, the appearance… everything. Overall, it just didn’t have any “wow” factor to it. It wasn’t a bad cigar by any means it just needs more time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

I was honestly surprised when I got the green light myself.
