RDB Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Nice. Bling is not just a modern thing… I’d love to know the story of this item, through the revolution to today. (Assuming it’s real: I have no expertise at all.)
Fuzz Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 I will not be putting this the list of potential wedding gifts! 1

Fugu Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 A very typical, neo-classical Fabergé work for the outgoing 19th century (enamel over guilloched metal surface, gold plated silver in this case as it seems, with parts in massive 14 karat gold) and in particular typical of the hallmarked master Henrik Wigström. Showing all original puncheons, including the kokoschnik, and would be dated post-1903 period. Nice, but not really my thing. 😅 On 1/16/2023 at 8:25 PM, BrightonCorgi said: I wonder if it was ever used for its purpose? These pieces were usually rarely truly being used. Mostly put up for showcasing (well, quite as Rob’s title implies - in the “man cave” 😄). Precious gifts by which one showed one’s appreciation. Even though the purple one reveals some wear or damaging, still I would guess both had never seen / carried a cigar. 1
