HoyoFan Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Anyone have any info on when these are being released this year? Typically its end of November I believe.
Bigkahuna Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 That was traditionally the timeframe but post pandemic timing has killed that. Pinks and casa have taken up the gaps for many shipments. Also, reg prod opus is nearly non-existent in the past few months. I don’t think there will be a reliable shipment date cycle again for some time
Cairo Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 I saw one sampler that just appeared at one NC vendor--you can PM me for the link if you wish.
Lamboinee Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 One local b&m says that a shipment of FF OX is en route. Another local b&m has already received at least one shipment of OX because she sold me these and a perfexcion eye of shark several weeks ago and said she just got them in.
Jayo the Giant Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Several B&Ms have received their Anejo shipments last week. (Southern United States).
Capn_Jackson Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 I got these last weekend here in Ft Worth. They told me that they received their boxes the previous week, but only three boxes. Various vitolas. Seemed like locally, everyone got a box of 50’s. Some got a box of 60’s, some got the 48’s, and I think one place nearby got a box of the 46. 2

The Fuente's own a shop in Ybor City that you can find them at as soon as they are released. I'll PM you the details.

Grand cathedral on the other hand is a total rip off charging 3x retail on everything 1
Lamboinee Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Update: newest anejos are in at two b&ms in east TN.
HoyoFan Posted December 15, 2022 Author Posted December 15, 2022 For those that have had the shark and the other vitolas, is there any noticeable difference in flavor?

Not especially. They all have that base flavor. Obviously each vitola has its nuances but like opus all are very similar
Chris P. Bacon Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 I’ve had the Shark and didn’t notice a considerable difference. Only vitola that breaks away from the pack is the 888. Supercharged flavor and a sweetness that’s not overtly present in the other sizes. My only gripe with the line-up is that the flavors really don’t pop until the 2+ year mark.
Sir Diggamus Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 My only gripe with the line-up is that the flavors really don’t pop until the 2+ year mark.I find the same. A young Anejo is very rough around the edges, you don’t get a lot of the nuanced sweetness until two of three years in. If you can’t wait until beyond 5 years they get even better. jimjim Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Makes me feel better, had an 888 with a year or so on it according to the box date and it was a bit muted on the sweetness that they are known for... Whats ya'lls go to size?
Sir Diggamus Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 @jimjim My favorite is probably the no 50. It always seems to have the right balance of sweetness and richness that hits the spot. Tampa Sweethearts used to sell an Anejo sampler that allowed you to try 5 or 6 different sizes but I don’t see it listed there anymore. I think the 46, 50, and 55 are the three you should try if you haven’t had any of the line yet. People search out the no 77 (shark) because of its interesting size, but I think the three I mentioned above are all better than the no 77Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
HoyoFan Posted May 19, 2023 Author Posted May 19, 2023 I picked up a 5er of 50's and have had one so far. I gotta say, it was pretty great with very little rest on it. 1
BoliDan Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 How do people not know we are responding to a six month old thread. Anyway,.I guess it timely because the usually do release for fathers day. I go with 888s, 50s and sharks if they have em. 1
HoyoFan Posted May 19, 2023 Author Posted May 19, 2023 Curious, is there a noticeable flavor difference in the shark from the rest of the Vitolas or is it just “cool?”
jimjim Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 Had a 46 the other night. Amazing cigar, smoked that corona for what felt like two hours. Much better than the 888. 1
Sir Diggamus Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 Curious, is there a noticeable flavor difference in the shark from the rest of the Vitolas or is it just “cool?”For me, I find the Añejo shark to have less of the sweet and rich notes I get with the other vitolas. I attribute it to the fact that there seems to be a larger amount of filler than wrapper on that one, but for some reason I don’t experience the same thing with the 55 (torpedo). The dna is the same flavor wise, but on the shark just doesn’t get as deep with the flavors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Hoepssa Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Añejo shark tastes bitter to me, if you know what the sweet taste from AF Añejo. Avoid the pyramid shape vitola when picking Añejo, my pick would be 48/49-- 888-55-- Shark.
