This was the first from this box and an overall first for me too.

The nights are drawing in quickly so it was the garage and camping chair.

Construction was great, beautifully smooth wrapper. Felt tight in the hand but characteristic of a great roll rather than a tent peg.

My replacement punch has still not arrived so I went with a V-cut. The draw was great with a little resistance, one thing I wasn't too keen on was the size of it, I think a punch might have saved me from having to put so much of it in my mouth I'm order to seal the deep v cut.

First third - fairly disappointing, the draw felt good with perfect resistance but I felt like I had to pull a hell of a lot of air through to get very little smoke output. The taste wasn't bad, simply dull. Very light hay.

Seconds third - improvement on the first with a hint of spice, more hay prevailed and I was getting more tiresome of having to draw so heavily.

Final third - I was smoking it because I had paid for it, not bad just a touch boring which would have been better if I didn't have to draw so much, felt like a real workout.

I much preferred the Du Maire earlier in the day.

3/5 but I'll certainly look forward to revisiting in the future.

Sounds frustrating.  I find these and the San Juan really improve with some time down.  A year or two does wonders for these.

It'll definitely be a year or so before I try another.
