Eid Mubarak everyone. 
Today marks the end of the pilgrimage of hajj. Today I’ll just vent a bit about religion 😂. Hajj is a requirement for envy muslim who is able to perform the pilgrimage once in their lifetime. As such it has previously been ful of people going nuts and stampeding and people normally die etc. Not great. 
 

The latest telenovela in the Muslim world is the restrictions on Hajj. The price of going for Hajj (about 8 days) has gone from 8 grand a few years ago to 30 grand today. Ontop of this they have stopped all visas for over 65s. Really it’s most of the old people who go as they can afford it and have the time and what not. 
 

the last outcry is that now the visa is a lottery. Imagine. In a religion where gambling and games of chance are strictly prohibited… the ability to go to the most holy place and perform your obligatory pilgrimage is controlled by… lottery 😂 What are they thinking 😂

Eid Mubarak, 

I just had a flash back to working in Jeddah, heading off for a weekend trip to Taif Mountain, missing the 'Christian road' turn off, and shitting ourselves at the check point to Mecca, lots of elevated voices and machine guns.  Eventually we explained out innocent mistake, and were back on the right road. 

Loved my time in Saudi and Kuwait, met some of the nicest people, eat some of the most wonderful food. 

I hope theres a resolution to your current logistic, price hike nightmare.
