Popular Post dominattorney Posted April 18, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 18, 2022 Only one photo because I was reading while smoking. This guy was just the ticket for this review contest. These may not be regular production in the normal sense, but we're pretty easy to source before my buying hiatus so I think it foots the bill. Totally satisfying every time, and with a unique sweet nut dessert flavor profile, the punch 48 is a heavy weight contender for an undercard buy in. Great construction, even burn, flavor evolution to a sweet and salted finish. Flavors throughout are peanut, earth cocoa, spices, and coffee. Wonderful smoke and I'd put it over a Cohiba siglo IV any day of the week, pound for pound. Though I'm not a huge Cohiba fan, I do not detract from the brand either. I'd just point out that it's not the be all to end all of cigar smoking, and something the budget conscious need not fret about missing out on. I do love me some single 3 and 5, but in the (semi) corona Gorda category I'd be reaching for the punch 48 as top dog any day of the week. 94 8
jakebarnes Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Oof. I still haven't gotten through that book. Pynchon is some dense reading.

I did my undergrad thesis on Burroughs. If you can make sense of Naked Lunch Pynchon is a breeze. His language is beautiful and he's laugh out loud funny at times. It's worth it even if you don't "get it" I think. 3

A lot of my issues come down to not having a lot of time to read until vacation. With Pynchon, it was just dense for the times I've tried to read it and the mindset I am in. Will give it a go again in the future. 1

Inherent Vice is a good first crack as it isnt as long and not too complex, but my favorite is Gravitys Rainbow if you can get past the pornographic element and don't balk at the length.
