Popular Post Monterey Posted March 12, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 12, 2022 Alex Siglo VI. Reference to size, has no similarities to an actual cohiba siglo VI. Picked up personally in August of 2019 at the hotel comodoro. I love reviewing cigars like this. No bias. I've never seen another review on this cigar. So I go in completely blind and can do a true review without any influence. I've always wondered how much that impacts our taste. We hear over and over that PLPC's are caramel bombs, especially after 5 years. So with that in mind, is the flavor I get from it already programmed in my brain? Phenomenal construction. Perfect draw Initial flavor was flavorless, but sweet and salt entered fairly quickly along with a peanut note. A sweet salty roasted peanut. Yum. About a half inch in, cream came in. Peanut dropped a tad. Made it a salty sweet cream flavor. The sweet and the cream would come and go. The dominate flavor is salted roasted peanuts with just a hint of hazelnut. The cigar is almost 3 years old and it is a very smooth experience. The cigar is all class! The last half dropped the sweet and the cream completely. The salted roasted peanut just continued, ramping up slightly along the way. Given how unique the flavor was (never had a cigar this peanut dominate), I didn't mind that it didn't change.Other peanut cigars come to mind, most notably the punch 48, but none of the others were so strong on the peanut flavor, especially with the hint of hazelnut. Construction was immaculate. It only had 2 ash drops. One the middle (pictured) and then the final one when the cigar was done. Smoke time was an impressive 1 hour 50 minutes. Best news for me, this was the first cigar of the box. While I will miss my customs from Alex, I at least have most of this box, and 4-5 more of various sizes from him. I paid 150 for the 25, which made it 6 dollars a cigar. What a steal! Worth 4 times that. Wrote this review smoking a plugged HDM EE. Makes me shake my head. One loss for us all may be the insane prices we will see shortly with the coming rate hike. But the real loss is losing the flavor, quality + value priced cigars that are the Alex customs Guess I will just smoke nothing but nudies soon, got 2 boxes of 2021 lanceros aging away! 12
Islandboy Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 $6 a cigar...soon to be known as the good ole days. You can still get them now, for a little while anyway, but they’re $20 - $23 a stick. I’m enough of a fool for that toasted hazelnut to pay the piper. Looking forward to getting a few years on them. 2

I'd wager to suggest > 50% of what we taste we are just getting from our pre-conceived notions of the flavour. 1
Digi Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Thanks for the review! Lit up my first Alex G Siglo 2 a few weeks back and my notes said “it’s all salted pretzel and nougat”. Delicious! Mind boggling at 6 bucks a smoke….congrats!!

Yeah, a sweet element would have made it more like peanut butter. I have a few of those over the years and love that profile.
