Popular Post rcarlson Posted September 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 19, 2021 Decided to fix my Punch 48 disappointment yesterday with the always-delicious Punch Short de Punch. These have hit the spot every time. I'm a junkie. If you haven't already had them, you need to lay your hands on few boxes. Such a unique smoke. Can't wait to compare it to the 898's that I plan to win. A sure thing (Lord I might have cursed it). The typical tight pack, smooth wrapper, no give. Every time it seems like the perfecdraw is going to get some use until the cap is clipped and flame applied. Perfect resistance, perfect smoke output, tight ash. Colorado wrap, deceptively small, medium body and strength, kaleidoscope of flavors right out of the gate that are difficult to pin down. A lot of ebb and flow. Not going to bother with the usual progression of thirds. The flavors rotate in varying strength throughout: graham, toasted almond, slight creaminess, baking spice, earthy, woody, with a streak of funk. Consistent as hell among more boxes of these than I'd like to admit. The most unique characteristic of PSdP to me is a very distinctive taste of aged tobacco, yet I can't imagine why. These are a relatively new release and this guy is pretty fresh in relative terms. Every dang PSdP gets an "A" from me, including this one. I love 'em. Even as the second or third smoke of the day they stand out. 12
JohnS Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 I concur, they tend to smoke like an aged Punch Punch but with much less time down. 1 1
