Popular Post Tdm_86 Posted August 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 17, 2021 Recently, I picked up a few tins of 5 HUHC. No box code, but I do know they’re 2020. They’ve been resting for a little under 3 months, so this review week is the perfect time to smoke one. Pre-light: Pretty nicely rolled, with an evenly colored wrapper. The cap barely makes it’s way past the shoulder, I’ll be v-cutting this one. The aroma off the wrapper is a slight barnyard, but a little sweeter than what I remember from HUHC. The cold draw is a sweet hay. First half: On first light, there’s a slight bitterness, combined with a texture of black pepper. The retrohale is quite spicy. Not unpleasant, just unexpected. After the first 5 puffs or so, everything seems to settle in and some more familiar flavors of a slightly sweet bread/doughnut show up. The finish remains a bit spicy, which is lovely when combined with the sweetness. This little guy is ‘on’ from the get-go. Second half: From the halfway point, it quite abruptly transitions into a coffee on the draw with a cayenne (sweet/spicy) finish. The smoke gets a little warm after I pass the band, so I slow down a little. At the very end there’s this bittersweet nutty flavor that reminds me a little of hazelnuts. Conclusion: A lot of flavor for such a small cigar. It did show it’s lack of age with the slight acrid smoke at times. But never to the point it got unpleasant. I really liked it for it’s amount of flavor. Smoked it in just over 40 minutes. 89/100 7
ParkitoATL Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Gonna have to snag a fiver of these on my next order. 1
MrBirdman Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 They really reward 3-5 years of age. That’s a good start for a HUHC. 1

Definitely, the ones I’ve had before were about that age and were more balanced. This young example did show it’s potential clearly, it just had some rough edges (which I don’t really mind). 1
