Nino
The Cubans are not spared of anything bad happening ... my heart goes out to all the residents and I hope for the best. Coming to Cuba as of tomorrow from the East.
Popular Post Chas.Alpha
This is more of a public service announcement than anything, but for those of you that don't live in the tropical regions... Tropical Storm: Breezy, quite a bit of rain. Nothing that will get me out of bed if it's late. Cat 1: Very breezy, less rain than a TS usually. Also won't get me out of bed if it's late. Power out for a day. Cat 2: Ok, that's wind! You are definitely out of bed, if for no other reason than the dogs, cats or wife insists. Late night cocktails. Power out for a couple of days. Cat 3: Didn't go to bed. Start playing a drinking game, one shot of Rum every time your wife screams. Drunk and passed out by 4:00 a.m. If you had a wooden fence, you probably don't anymore. Power out for a week. Cat 4: Things that normally wouldn't fly do. Drinking game has turned into 1 shot every time YOU scream. Wooden fence and screen enclosures gone, don't even bother looking. Cars parked straight in the driveway are repositioned. You no longer have a roof. Power is out until further notice. Cat 5: Imagine a nuclear bomb without the radiation. Everything is flattened. Roof, trusses, furniture, car all destroyed. No tree is left standing. All utilities damaged, some beyond repair. If you didn't evacuate, you wish you'd had. Hospitals, food and water not available. Cigar collection ruined. Drinking seems like the only comfort. Power not a concern, as you have nothing left to plug in. 2

Yup--one of those means I don't have to water the garden for the next week. 😀

Nino
While Fred is leaving rain over Havana as I type this, the next storm is building up force and will be over Cuba next Wednesday and Thursday - Grace follows Fred. https://www.cibercuba.com/noticias/2021-08-14-u1-e129488-s27061-forma-tormenta-tropical-grace-atlantico-podria-afectar-cuba
