Heading down to Houston start of September, curious what's new.

I haven't smoked in doors there since the 90s.

I hear they have a davidoff store with a lounge now. Everything else I've seen looks questionable. I am supposed to meet some pals at a cigar lounge in the heights.

Anything cool or unique?

Edit: does any place do cigar dinners anymore? I recall the Ruth's Chris used to and I think the B&B butchers allows cigars on their rooftop.

Not sure where you're going in Houston, but I travel to The Woodlands once a year for work.  There is an excellent steakhouse called Kirby's and attached to the bar area is a separate smoking area with full bar, TV's and the ability to order food to it.  There is also a great cigar bar in The Woodlands called Blend (might be the Davidoff lounge you're referring to) which is a great place to enjoy a dram and a smoke.

You might be referring to the Davidoff of Geneva on westheimer in river oaks. I’ve never been inside but driven past quite a few times and it looks nice. I didn’t see anyone smoking cigars at B&B on the roof when I went a few weeks ago, but I would not be surprised if they let you smoke up there. Great steaks, would highly recommend.

Are you going to the Heights cigar lounge on 19th street? Let me know how it is, I was planning on popping in sometime after work in the next couple of weeks.

Piggy’s off dunlavy street has a big outdoor area with pretty good food and drinks too, I’ve smoked plenty of cigars out there.

Yeah I had a house just 2 blocks from B&B before I left Houston for the wilds of west texas. Depending on who I got as a server I've had the best steak experiences of my life there, including places in NYC and Chicago. I'm hoping they still sell and allow cigars upstairs.

The davidoff on westheimer is the one. It's newish since I left. Was hoping for some review of the place.

I'll let yall know how the heights lounge works out.

I'm going to try and check both those places out. I'm going to be staying in the galleria area as most of my business and pals are around there. San Felipe. And being in the woodlands I'm certain they're much higher quality than what i saw on a cursory glance via Google for Houston proper. Much thanks!

1000% check out Kirby's.  Not lying when I say an excellent steakhouse with great seafood.  The ability to sit there, smoke a cigar in a full bar and eat your meal with a stogie in your yap is a great feature! Safe travels and we expect to hear a full rundown when you get back. LOL.

Davidoff of Geneva and Embajadores in the Galleria.  Can smoke on the patio at Pappas and the Palm.  Stogies is next door to the Palm.

Prior to Covid we held our local herbs at Embajadores.

Very timely! I'm heading down to Houston Monday night.

I'm probably making a beeline for davidoff, but this embajadores in river oaks is in my old 'hood and I have a group to meet with. That seems like a keen place! Thanks!

Mort owns both but I have not been to the River Oaks location, just the one at 610 @ Post Oak.

Davidoff only has a members lounge to smoke in.

Casa de Monticristo is about a half mile away from there and normally has a great selection and lots of seating.  This is my normal cigar spot.

Stogies has a good lounge, but the smokes can be hit or miss, just depends on what you’re looking for.

The heights cigar bar was just an old cigar bar that didn’t do much for me.  The selection was pretty bad and there was not a lot of seating, so I walked out.

I have not been to any of the Woodlands locations, but have heard great things.

I'm sitting at the casa de montecristo now. This is very amusing/fun for me considering I haven't smoked in a place like this since there was a Dunhill store in the galleria.

They have a nice selection of davidoffs, including boxes of 702s. Right now I'm smoking my first late hour. Smells great.

Also, I can't begin I used to live like this. In the museum district then medical center. This is insanity. People are crazy here. Fun to visit, but it makes me appreciate desert life more. 5 nights to go!

Curious - can you expand on this

I can't believe I used to love like this, that is.

Everything is so packed and fast. So noisy. Busy. I used to tear ass in my little sports car through Houston. Now I'm so used to strictly following the speed limit.

Everything is available here. It's just strange. I've been out of this environment for too many years. It's fun but strange to me.

Traveling to Houston tomorrow, so bumping this thread again.  Any updates from the Houston-savvy?  Looks like Embajadores is permanently closed?  I’m staying in the Galleria area if that helps?

Thanks!

I travel to Houston a few times a year for business and when I go, I head to the Blend Bar in The Woodlands. Was there a few weeks ago with a HDM RS paired with some Zacapa Rum
