Popular Post El Presidente Posted July 26, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 26, 2021 2016 seems so long ago. The future seemed so much brighter for many in Cuba with the promise of things opening up. Little did we know it was to be a false dawn. The Rolling Stones concert in Havana summed up this period nicely. Havana Moon was filmed on 25 March 2016 in Havana, Cuba. The film is a recording of a free outdoor concert put on by the band at the Ciudad Deportiva de la Habana sports complex, which was attended by an estimated 500,000 concert-goers. The concert marked the first time a rock band had performed in Cuba to such a large crowd, breaking the previous record of the Italian singer Zucchero Fornaciari who performed to a crowd of nearly 70,000 goers in 2012.[1][2] On 11 November 2016 the film was released in multiple formats. When the news that sitting United States president, Barack Obama was to visit Cuba was released—marking the first time a sitting president had visited the island nation in 88 years—the concert was rescheduled from 20 March 2016 to 25 March 2016. 5
KCCubano Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Just saw an hour of that concert last week. Pretty cool. Love the Stones!
joeypots Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 I think there are two films of the Latin America '16 tour. The full South America tour was documented in Ole' Ole' Ole'! and the last show in Havana was shown in Havana Moon. I Know, trivia. It was amazing to see how popular they are in Argentina. I'm not sure I'd pay to see them now but the music holds up and I find I like them more as time passes. Or maybe I'm getting old.

Some sloppy, some off the charts. Really depends on how f---ed up Keith and Ronnie are. Kicking around #23 in September. Last one I saw at Arrowhead was pretty good!

Nino Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Seen them in concert a few times - love them ... so much so that I had the tongue tattoed on my ankle back in the mid-seventies. Lost colour and faded away so when they played in HAV I decided to have the tattoo touched up and added the Cuban flag to it. Happy. http://flyingcigar.de/startseite/tattoos-and-cigars/ 2
