The sponsors are from Florida and are trying to protect their local manufacturers.     They have been trying to do this with different legislative attempts for several years.

This is for show so they can tell the locals "we tried".

Any human being, with a decent education and a small flair for intellectual honesty and logic, should be able to clearly see the vast and clear difference between the two.

The reality is they see an industry in which they can tax into oblivion.  The sad thing is they will destroy jobs in the very countries people are leaving for the US from in droves already.  They will tax cigars to infinity, sales and tax revenues will decrease measurably, and the immigration problem will increase accordingly.  Not linear of course but it will happen.

How many persons are employed in Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico and other places in Central and South America in the cigar industry?  I guess I would be interested in knowing the answer to tha,t but I feel this thirst for increased taxation will harm the majority of them.

Just my two cents on the matter....
