Chas.Alpha Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 I come from a music family. Mom was a somewhat internationally known concert pianist. My three sibs are all fine musicians. It is what I know. At an early age, I learned to memorize sheet music. For me, that translated into memorizing played music. If I heard it twice, I can play it. If I’ve heard it three times, I can recall it in perfect clarity like it is playing on the radio. I have an 8000 CD jukebox in my head, that I can call up at any time. Very helpful when trapped in a conversation with a boring idiot. I just turn on some tunes! Nod and smile, listen to Beethoven or Jethro Tull. Helpful when you’ve been married for 30 years. 😀 To the review: I have chosen to play “The 12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus” by Spirit. I haven’t pulled this one out of my memory banks in awhile. “...you have the world at your fingertips, no one can make it better than you.” WAKE UP!!! The MGL blend is identical to the MSU, tells me that the same sorter was dividing these blends up equally, as much as can be done in Cuba. Construction is flawless. Full Partagas flavor, with the odd light licorice note which I’ve noted in more recent P blends. Great cigar, keep ‘em coming. 2nd half performs like a good Partagas should, building in strength and flavor. I buy these for a reason. The flip side of 12 Dreams has started in my head, so I’ve changed my memory to play Chick Corea’s “My Spanish Heart.” Stefan Grappelli on violin, great music! The P2 is hard to let loose of... Excellent cigar: 92. Music: I only remember the best. 4
Chibearsv Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 Nice review and you brought back some good memories. 12 Dreams is an album we wore the grooves out of when I was in Boulder. We definitely smoked more than cigars back then. Hmm, I think I'll play some Tommy Bolin with a cigar or 2 this weekend. 1
