Popular Post el_papacito Posted June 1, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 1, 2021 Decided this morning would be a fine one to taste and enjoy a Cohiba Siglo IV. While I have found that all CC are tasting more or less 'same/similar' there are nuances and the Siglo IV seems to possess some more pronounced flavors. Rich, earthy, cedar came out in the first third followed by a slight transition to more coffee and dark cocao in the second, the final shifted back to earthy yet delicate tobacco - a trait I'm finding in other CC, in varying degree, that the experience (I've enjoyed ~20 CC since taking up the pastime) has been perhaps that CC are more like a delicate wedding cake which was invariably quite expensive and some will say "it's just cake I don't get the difference". They're not wrong, in principle, however; the wedding cake is more delicate, delivering the experience in a more light yet pronounced manner. Sure, CC are just cigars but I am finding they mostly all have this similar characteristic. Alas, on to my problem... I have no buddies to enjoy these wonderful delights with. Enjoying a cigar solo is not all bad, I do it every day, in fact. I can't help but wish to enjoy them in the company of others who are enjoying in the pastime. So, I am in the East Bay (SF, CA East Bay) and would like to propose a herf of sorts -- as we are all starting to creep out from the year of mostly isolation, let's have a smoke together. Anyone in the East Bay who would like to get together? 6
Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 1, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 1, 2021 For various reasons, I think you find yourself in the same situation that many do.In a world that is ever connected, finding both cigar mates and a place to smoke them with can be difficult It is always great catching up one on one. Don't be discouraged. City herfs are fun but they can take some time to pull ogether. Jump on FOH zoom one day during the week. I will likely be on tomorrow midday local and so will a few other guys. I will arrange for a weekend session in the coming weeks. It is a great way to get started. Nice review 8
el_papacito Posted June 1, 2021 Author Posted June 1, 2021 Will join the FOH zoom, look forward to it!
smbauerllc Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 I too smoke alone as there are no other cigar smokers here at the veteran's home except for 2 staff members and we aren't allowed to smoke together. Kinda surprised with the average age here being between 65 and 75. Would have thought there would be some Cigar smokers with 78 residents Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk 4
ZigZauer Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I smoke alone as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think he means at his veterans home not on this forum 🙂 I enjoy smoking with others for the social aspect but for me other than smoking with my dad or maybe 1 on 1 with a close friend, I spend too much time in polite conversation to fully appreciate the cigar. I know others are very different and only smoke or enjoy smoking in a social context. 5

I just want to talk about the cigars and maybe trade one or two and have a nice beer or rum to boot! 3
Meesterjojo Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I'm positive there are folks where you are that smoke cigars. Meanwhile, I've been toying with getting a group of folks in deep west texas together this August or September. Given the county I live in is larger than 3 US states and Puerto Rico, it's a bit of a challenge. Good luck! 1

I’d love to spend the afternoon sharing a cigar with a retired vet in the veterans home. Sounds like a great organization to put together! 1

My whole family, everyone, parents, grandparents, male and female, siblings all are vets. And gatherings are horrible. Maybe because I was the peace/love type. Oddly we all became cops n nurses. Hearing how much better my life could've been had I joined, or about my lack of duty gets tiresome. Oddly, all my vet friends hated the military, go figure. 1
