Montecristo No. 2 SMA SEP 19 (VVRW#2)

Well I received two 10 count boxes of these and was searching for a late 2019 SMA box code because Rob and Ken gave such high accolades on the Montecristo No. 2 “SMA OCT 19” they reviewed last year.

I have always smoked H.Upmann No. 2s and VR Unicos for pyramids/torpedoes so this is my first ever Montecristo No. 2.

I usually do not smoke a cigar until they are a minimum of 3 years of age on it but given Rob’s and Ken’s high score of 95+ I made an exception and had high expectations on this cigar.

The first third was an mild milk chocolate and malt flavor and the strength was medium.

The second third was increasing in milk chocolate and malt with a little bit of nougat coming forth. The strength is slightly increasing too.

The final third was increasing in the same milk chocolate and malt flavor and strength.

it was totally different than my usual H.Upmann No. 2s I smoke.

i am glad I picked up these and will try one again in about 3 years.

I would rate it a 92.

BTW, my Harris Hawk was keeping me company while I was smoking it

Enjoyed your review. My first VR Unicos were also the first Pirámides I tried several years back and turned out to be a favorite. Pleased to see your feelings and potential on the newer Monte 2s. Picked up a few to stash away for a bit as well.
