Popular Post joeypots Posted April 5, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 5, 2021 I don't usually select cigars by box code but when I saw three packs of CORO Tubos allegedly from the El Laguito factory I grabbed one. I think aging cigars in tubes gives them a special something and if the cigar is good to begin with a nap in a tube may turn it into something very special. I also feel that the Cohiba gains so much from age, and by that I mean 5 years +, that smoking them young can be a waste of an expensive cigar. Maybe the recent run of Cohiba can prove this wrong but I haven't smoked any of those yet. This cigar was a bit pale and had a draw that was just a hair loose. But I quibble, I've seen tubed cigars that were positively ugly and weren't even worth smoking. This one was pretty damn good. The burn was straight and required few touch ups. There was just a touch of harshness after the light up but it soon settled down to lovely Cohiba smooth creamy flavors. Just a touch of citrus and lovely through the nose, this cigar was potent. Could be almost six years in a tube allowed the strength to remain while the rough edges smooth out. I'm going to give it a very good rating and I'm thinking I'll let the other two from the pack rest quietly for a few years until I smoke #2 from the pack. 6
