Popular Post RDB Posted February 26, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 26, 2021 The quintessential and eponymous short. From a 50 cab (of course), this box has been excellent. Moderately dark wrappers and a good strong smell. This example is densely but evenly rolled, with a firm but acceptable draw. Straight away we’re in full-throttle Partagas flavours, at the darkest end of the spectrum for the marca. Liquorice. Molasses. Chicory and coffee. Sweet and sour impression. It’s way darker than the bready, roasted pepper and vegetal flavours of the larger gauge Partagas vitolas. It burns slow and produces copious thick smoke. Certainly over medium body but still not huge, and the nicotine is not too strong. The flavours perhaps flatten out a bit after the opening inch or so: more earth and spice in the second half, less sweetness in the mix. Overall a highly satisfactory late night cigar. Score a strong 1 on the binary scale (1/0). Incredible value here. These are about USD5 each. What else gives such pleasure for so little cost? Perhaps a cold beer on a hot day, but the list is... short. 15
