Popular Post Goodfortune Posted February 6, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 6, 2021 Bucs 35- Chiefs 31 Been glued to the TV watching Super Bowl matchup breakdowns and listening to analysis. Getting all my food and drink in order for the big game tomorrow! Picked up a box of these last year on 24:24. Have smoked a couple of them so far and they have been consistently enjoyable, especially for the price and young age. I’m away from my humidor so don’t have a box code, but these are early-mid 2019. Beautiful California afternoon, 62F, clear skies and sunshine. Paired this with a glass of champagne. Clipped the cap with my Xikar M8. Draw had the perfect amount of resistance. Not much on the cold draw, a little wood and some sweet natural tobacco flavor. 1/3: Nice mellow flavors. Faint leather, bit of oak, sweet tobacco, burnt sugar and some light coffee. 2/3: Cigar is smoking very well. Predominant flavors of leather and wood have stayed the same. More sweetness is shining through, more burnt sugar and a hint of caramel. 3/3: The champagne has paired well with this stick. The flavor has not overpowered the mildness of the cigar. However, the strength and boldness ticked up a notch in the final third. Some darker wood flavors were coming through, the leather flavor became more intense, the sweet sugar flavor has been replaced by more of a baked bread taste. Hoping I can keep my hands off of these and see how they develop a few years down the road. As they stand now, they are a very pleasant smoke and one that doesn’t break the bank. Can’t complain about a young and cheap 90+pt cigar. 19
GVan Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I've never thought about pairing a PLMC with champagne - nice touch! What I really like is the dichotomy of pairing a "Cheap & Cheerful" with a typically thought of elegant wine. I'm going to put that on my list of possible pairings and try it. I have 3.25 boxes of these - and currently smoking through the LGR AGO-2017 right now. Been planning on buying more PLMC's but have currently put my coin on other purchases for a while - like the last two offerings of Parti Lusi's on 24:24. Aways an interesting thought process -- for the approximate same cost; do I buy 50 Lusitania's or do I buy 225 PLMC's? Slightly over a 112 hours of smoking enjoyment versus approximately 175 hours of smoking enjoyment .... and always easier finding 45 minutes for an enjoyable CC than it is finding 2.25 hours for a CC. 1
