Popular Post saltbox
My first Romeo y Julieta, have been very eager to see how the marca tastes. First third: Opens immediately with beautifully sweet and creamy cherries, which are particularly rich on the retrohale. The sweetness is hard to nail down but it's like a swirl of nutty caramel and sourdough bread. After half an inch the cherry fades a bit from the palate but it's still nice and present on the retrohale. Middle third: The flavor remains pretty consistent. As I reach the halfway mark the cherry notes start to become more present on the palate again, and towards the end of this third the cherries take on a spiced characteristic. Last third: The cherry notes continue to ramp up, with nice spiced cherries on the retrohale and a great creamy sweetness on the palate. In the last inch, an extra rich and earth tobacco note suddenly appears and makes for a great end to the smoke. Overall: The flavor profile was great, and I was extremely pleased to find the cherry notes to be so prominent. The cigar didn't evolve much over the course of the smoke, just subtle variation over the course of the smoke until the last inch with the sudden rich and earthy notes, but the flavor was so great that wasn't a problem. I am curious to hear how the RyJ Churchill changes with age, as I've got a BEL MAY 20 box resting at the moment, and if they're as good as this one was it's going to be hard to leave them alone. 93/100
ChangBang
Awesome, hope I get the same cherry notes as you. From what I've heard, I think I'll really enjoy mine and then be forced to go buy a box lol.
Chibearsv
Nice review. In my experience, RyJ Churchills get sweeter, creamier, and smoother with some time under them. I recently sailed through a box of 2013s that were fantastic. I really like the way the 19s are smoking now but I've got a box that's just going to sit at the bottom of the tupperdore for at least 5 years. It's worth the patience but that doesn't mean we have to stop buying young cigars to enjoy now. I've got a box of 2020 on the way and based on your review, looks like I'll need another.
