Popular Post Shatner's Bassoon Posted October 5, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 5, 2020 This was a single, so I don’t know the year or box code. Construction seems good; draw is easy without veering into wind tunnel territory. Straight from the off it’s pure Montecristo with cocoa the dominant flavour. The first third is a mixture of cocoa, sweet spice, and chocolate powder. On the retrohale there is a bitter dark chocolate and more sweet spice. In the second third there are lashings of milk chocolate, a slight citrus note appears and disappears, and there are intermittent and mild fruit notes. The retrohale is still dark chocolate and sweet spice. The final third is more of the same on the palate: it’s all milk chocolate, and the body - which has hitherto been medium full - ramps up to full. There’s a touch of cream and citrus on the retrohale. In the final inch or so the cigar gets slightly bitter and hot. The burn needed touching up throughout, but humidity here is about 85, so that’s to be expected. There is also a surprising strength in terms of nicotine, which I don’t often get in a Cuban, but it’s nothing too overpowering. This is a pleasant cigar; I suspect it would be better if I’d let it rest for a while. It isn’t complex, but the flavours were very enjoyable. I give it 90 but suspect it has potential to be much better. 8
Boxer31 Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Have 5 and waiting for touch more rest but might run out of nice weather then it’s not until spring but sounds tempting. Good review. 1

Good review. This was smoked straight after purchase. I probably didn’t give it the best chance to shine, but I would certainly pick up a quarter box if they came up.
mprach024 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Haven’t tried one yet. I love the Monte profile, it’s on my list to grab some soon. Looks great
Tstew75 Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 The Linea 1935 line is as good or better than any (overpriced) EL out there right now. Putting 18/19 boxes of Maltes/Dumas away...I'll be glad i did one day.

I just put a couple of boxes Maltés and a box of Leyend away. 1
