Cohiba Coronas Especiales (1/4 box 2019)/ (SUB46RW)

I don’t smoke a lot of Cohiba.  I just think there’s a lot to enjoy without spending the coin.  This cigar was a prime example.  I mean, if I got used to these the others just wouldn’t appeal to me any more and then where would I be?  Exactly why I buy 1/4 boxes  LOL

This was in a rather damp humi.   I probably need to check calibration, but it was nowhere near 60% rh.  Still, it smoked wonderfully if a little snug on the draw.  Flavors were slightly  muted, but only slightly. 
 

Upon lighting I got a blast of rich orange juice with some mild cedar and grass.  The sweetness of the cigar was profound.  The citrus was the star of the show and intensified well into the final third.  If this had been a drier stick I’m thinking the flavors would have been overpowering.   It burned quite well requiring touch ups only after the half, and this I believe because it was a bit wet.  I have 5 left of this 1-4 order and managed to squirrel away a full box which I’ll hide for a few years.  Maybe it’s time to check on the cardboard tubes I have from 2015... ?

Awesome review! I finally picked up a box of these, my first Cohiba box purchase. A 6er of 2019’s have been phenomenal so far for me too!

Nice review. I had bought a 1/4 earlier this year and has been sitting in my humidor. Glad to know these are smoking well young cause everywhere I read folks recommend aging 5 years.

That's how Cohiba finally made sense for me too, a 1/4 box of coronas especiales, and now I can never have enough of them!

Everyone eventually stays for Smokin’ Cat.  They might get drawn in by my weak reviews, but the Cat keeps em comin’ back!

I, too, copped a quarter box about a year and a half ago. My first El Laguito purchase to boot. Your excellent review has inspired me to light one up ASAP!

Yeah I’m kicking myself for not picking up a box earlier. 
I love having some higher end stuff on hand for little celebrations. I have some larger format higher end stuff but not enough in the shorter smoke category. Plus, the laguito no 2 is my favorite cigar size. It’s a shame there aren’t a few more laguito no 2’s around besides the especiales no 2.

Those 3/5 pack tubes/sleeves are usually all I buy now for the “fancy stuff”....  And they hang around a while. Not a bad option for keeping some fancy sticks available.
