So played Olympia today. Same pins and tee’s as the real players yesterday. The greens were not as fast as I thought ... def didn’t cut today but were plenty fast. If you missed the fairway was bogey or worse real quick. All in all for my 5th round of the year not bad. Was a great day.

That's a nice afternoon's work.

81 from the tips? No 3 putts? I gotta believe you are a very low handicap? Looks fun.

I am a 2.5 so adjusted from those t’s I was a 10. So basically i played to my handicap. Normally i would 3 putt but as little as I now play i only hit 6 GIR’s where as on a typical course I play I would hit anywhere from 12-15. So there wasn’t really that many chances too if this makes sense. I drive it about 280-290 on average and hit 10/14 fairways yesterday so when I missed the green it was usually pretty close and left fairly straight forward chips.
The issue I had was I was left with long approach shots for my game and had to hit clubs I don’t usually hit, combined with a lack of play and the first time I saw the course. I would say if I played today I would chop 5/6 shots off easy from the same t’s and from the members t’s it would be pretty easy.
I played in college on scholarship and have won 6 club championships, after quitting the game for 13 years or so, so I play at a better than average level but these guys r mutants. I would rip a t shot and walk another 70 yards to where they hit it. The game they r playing isn’t even golf ! My game is more circa 1980-1990’s golf lol.
Was a fun experience and one that further strengths the fact i shouldn’t quit my day job

Awesome round - you're being modest!  I've played the course as well but from the members tees.  It plays longer than the stated yardage and their bunker placement is impeccable -- meaning always in the place that you hit the ball with the slightest mis-hit!  Even on "normal days" the rough and the par 3's are very challenging at that course.

I've also been lucky enough to play the Phoenix Open the day after the tournament -- Shooting your handicap from the "Pro Set-Up" translates to an incredible round!  Most golfers would be lucky to break 100 on a course as tough as the Olympia Fields North Course under Pro conditions where most of the Pro's were over par -- nice job!

More like a 2.5R  ?  I'm a 3.5 and I wouldn't play you for less than 4 shots a side!

LMK when you are in Boston area...play at my course!  I play with a couple "2's" that sound just like you (College golfers, etc) ? You college players never forget how to play the game at a high level.

Take me out to Shinnecock or Deepdale and you can have all the shots you want!  I've played National, Maidstone, Bethpage Black a bunch but not yet Shinnecock or Deepdale. have you played those tracks?

Bethpage yes... easier than i thought. Garden City men’s. The creek. Piping Rock just so pure maybe the best manicured course time and time again. Plainfield (NJ) and Meadow brook. I am always trying to get to the few u mentioned but usually when I go the schedule is set. When I set those up I’ll hit u up.
