Humidor Napoleon III.

Listed work of art of cabinetmaking from around 1860.

Furniture surface on the outside ebonised and finished with numerous bronze appliques.

The door that properly gives access to the humidor, is found on its exterior front decorated with an oval frame containing a polychrome enamel representing the head of Medusa beheaded, displaying the weapons of Perseus; Helm of Hades, sword of adamantine and shield of Athena.

The interior is divided vertically into three volumes. The central one has four superimposed drawers and the two lateral volumes each have 14 sliding trays with capacity for 12 cigars / cigars each, in which the grooves made especially for this purpose are arranged.

In total, the trays have a capacity for 336 cigars.

All these elements are mahogany.

The upper body has a drawer at its base.

Measures Approx: 140 x 61 x 41 cm.

Condition: Restored. The only restoration that has been necessary was performed about 10 years ago, and it was an anti-woodworm treatment performed by a restorer. The problem was mainly centered on the lower part of the legs. Inside there was not, nor is there, any attack of woodworm and insecticide has never been used in order to preserve the aroma of the woods and not affect that of the cigars.
