Popular Post Silverstix Posted June 15, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 15, 2020 Cool idea for a review weekend. Forced me to revisit a box of cigars that has been really disappointing for me. Mainly because the wrappers have been thick, dry, and unworkable. This, however, is how a good BRC should be! Medium brown wrapper, thin, with a fair amount of oils and minimal big veins. I was so happy when I pulled the cap off and found out it looked like this! Now with 3+ years on them, this cigar started off smooth as could be. The first 1/3 saw no bite, no zing, just a smooth gingerbread cookie thing going on....sweet, earthy, some rich spices. Retrohale adds a stunning depth to the mild-medium body I’m getting on my tongue. As I got into the 2/3 of the cigar, still smooth as can be. Body now approaching medium, a nice long finish on the tongue, still dominated by a sweet earthiness. Picking up a little bit of a peppery dose on the finish and the retrohale, but still effortless to smoke. Now in the home stretch, phenomenal cigar. A continuation of the 2/3. No harshness. No bitterness. Burn like has been impeccable and the draw is right on the money. Perfect combination of sweetness, earth, spices and pepper. I prefer them when they are like this - very refined and stays on track. Not the most complex cigar out there, probably won’t change your life. But my god, for a Boli fan like me, this was terrific. Hit all of the best parts of the way a Bolivar should taste. Burn time: 55 minutes Rating: 93/100 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 13
ElPuro Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 I'm a big BRC fan, and completely agree with your sentiments! 1
worlok Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 I ordered a box of BRC's from FOH. Don't know how long it will take to get them, or how long I'll have to age them, but they'll be the first Bolivar for me. You got me salivating with this review. 1

MSU have been solid performers in 2018 & 2019 - smoked very well with less than 1 year from box date. My 2018's are awesome right now

It may be a few weeks or a month, I imagine.
Euripidespants Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 Love the BRC. Always has been one of my favorites. First great cigar I ever had was a BRC gifted to me in 95. top 5 smokes I’ve had. The bolivar profile fits my taste like a glove when it’s done right. The BRC doesn’t have the power they used to be but still a staple cigar. My go to cigar along with the bpc and BCJ 1
