Popular Post Wookie Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 So I fired up a Connie A today and I knew the draw was a bit tight on the pre-flight check. I reamed it with a perfec draw down the center and it didn’t help much on the cold draw. What I’ve found is that sometimes you need to smoke a half inch or so to moisten the tobacco. In this case it worked....I went back with the poker and twisted out a monster plug, pictured below. the draw went from tight to flowing. The body went from light to medium++. What would have been a chucker, became a sublime 1.5 hour smoke. This doesn’t always work, but my evidence suggests (multiple times) that some moisture allows the leaves to bind to the poker barbs...allowing one to extract the plug. I’d be interested to hear of empirical backup to my thesis. Maybe even @PigFish would chime in? 5
Popular Post NSXCIGAR Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 If the plug continues or comes back I always just keep digging with the PD. Nothing to lose. Sometimes the above happens. Also, if it's plugged at cold I always suggest coming in through the foot with the PD. Plug might be there and the PD doesn't reach the length of most cigars from the head. Another example of the indispensability of the PerfecDraw. 6
KavalanWhisky Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 I can't remember where i saw a video explaining how to use the PD but i was always drilling a long way down at the beginning but they recommended to start with shorter entry and work your way deeper later....there is a pun in here somewhere.... 2
