We had the monte especial, time for the big guns. This h unmann royal robusto is one of 5 from a box i bought a long time ago. I never really appreciated this cigar. Didn't like the size, the wrappers were fireproof when I sparked the first few, etc. Let's see what she can do though, in the spirit of the weekend competition. 20200502_200759.thumb.jpg.83bc58501ec47d29b4d2a31152d725c7.jpg

Photos are poor as we are out back with bad lighting. Construction on this example seems solid, and it lights up easily and promises to burn well. Toasted tobacco dominates the first third, with the slightest hint of shortbread and butter weaving in and out. 20200502_202736.thumb.jpg.515dbd3cad908692912e09a98480a281.jpg

This is even worse than the first picture, so I won't even bother to upload the third. Peanut is now showing up in the flavor profile, though toasted tobacco is the major player. We are enjoying some brie and cabernet as a drizzle makes its way over the mountains.

The final third takes a bad turn, and a harsh ammonia flavor comes out to play. I chuck the stick after about 65 minutes and we head inside. I'd say 7 out of 10 at best.

Skinny wins this round.
