Popular Post D-Mind Posted March 23, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 23, 2020 Trinidad Media Luna Factory Name: Petit Robustos / Concha No. 2 Popular Name: Robusto Ring Gauge: 50 Length: 115 mm / 4.5 inches Diameter: 19.84 mm Strength: medium Profile: cream, bean, nuts I've bought this beautiful box in Havana in Feb 2020. Price for box of 12 was about 104.4 CUC Wrapper leaf has colorado-rosado color and very smooth and silky with a sheen. Wrapper's cold aroma: honey with spicy notes (vanilla, white pepper). Aroma of the cigar's foot is sweet grass, milk chocolate, creme brulee. Cold draw with barely perceptible dried fruits and shades of nuts, baked milk, hay. The cigar starts with wood notes with a little sweetness. Strength is below medium, draw is perfect. Gradually, the smoke becomes more rounded and creamy, i feel notes of baked milk. By the end of the first third, the cigar delights with a bright creamy bouquet with notes of vanilla and custard. The second third gives a complex palette of shades, among which it is difficult to distinguish dominant notes. Summarized, this is a creamy chocolate motif, a bit like aged CoRo. The strength is medium. In the middle of the second third, light saltiness and shades of roasted cashews are added. Little by little the sweetness rises. In the last third, against the background of a creamy motif, light metallic notes and a slight acidity are added. The strength remains medium, but the smoke is more saturated, juicy. The overall taste range is diluted with leather tones and nutty nuances. At the very end, the cigar gives a rich taste of milk oolong, leaving a long creamy nutty finish. My score is 10 of 10 for every aspect of smoking: visual look of cigar, cold aroma, construction, pallate, dinamyc. Now this is the one of my favorite vitolas. Text on paper: ""Media Luna" under Trinidad Brand is the vitola selected by Habanos, S.A. in 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the brand created in 1969. It is a vitola which excellent dimensions for those who like thick ring gauge and small size Habanos. "Media Luna" is the name of the Hostel with an important architectonic value located in the street if the same name in the city of Trinidad." 6
Connoisseur Kim Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Seems that Trinidad Media Luna, Topes, Esmeralda are one of the winning releases from HSA! Great review! 1
RDB Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Lovely review, and those are absolutely gorgeous looking cigars. 1
Kayslay Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 The Topes is the only vitola out of the new releases that I've tried. It was fantastic in flavor. Just not a fan of having a cigar reminiscent of a garden hose to my lips. This vitola seems a little more up my alley. Thanks for the review! 1 1
mbflash80 Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 The overall quality of wrapper being used on this line extension seems to be very high. I have a couple boxes of esmeralda and they wrappers are really nice. 1 1
