Popular Post BlueRidgeFly Posted March 9, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2020 Beautiful sunny and warm late winter afternoon here on the Blue Ridge. Clipped the cap, and once more, and then just a bit more for a perfect draw. Starts off with rich woody notes, coffee and cream, toasted tobacco (more so than the last few) which slowly disappears, hints of sandalwood or something like that -- an almost perfume tone every several puffs. Oh yeah ? Have to coax the burn along here and there, it tried to canoe more than once. I forgive thee. Other than running low on butane it really doesn't bug me. Coffee and cream richness persists. And I'm having this with some coffee and cream, which I ought to do more often. It's a great combo. Second half picks up a fair bit of sweetness. It's added to the rest of the flavors already there. A single retrohale and there is finally a real delivery of caramel that I couldn't otherwise pick up and it becomes apparent with each puff after that. Nice. More touch ups with the flame, dawns on me that the slight breeze today against this slim stick could be causing that. I hold it up and rotate it a little every minute or so. Can't tell if I'm doing a bit of good. Story of my life some days. Final third or so is just damn tasty. Have to force myself to slow it down. Caramel and that perfume note become prominent and everything else it started with remains, all lingering on the palate brilliantly. An hour and fifteen minutes later - burning my fingers, done. So... a really good, easygoing end of the afternoon with this smoke. Very enjoyable. A solid 91. These might improve even more. I am down to my last, let's see... 45 sticks, all the same box code. Makes me happy but starting to think this is actually a shortage ? Have here a cab of PSP PLPC TOS FEB 17 which arrived almost a month ago, and I'm looking forward to comparing these once they acclimate a few more weeks. 10
rcarlson Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Nice review. I've been wanting to add some of these to my humi but wanting some age on them (from what I've read). There are a slew of die-hard fans around here.
Deeg Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 IMHO if you get the lighter golden-brown wrappers they come good really young. I have some LGR Sep 18s that are already caramel delights. The darker ones (I have a box that's almost maduro) seem to require 3-5, from what I've heard. Mine (some box code as the above, ROFL) are down for a long nap.
