LGC MdO No. 4 MSU JUN 17 (ARW)

I received the box of La Gloria Cubana Medaille d‘Or No.4 yesterday and essentially smoking ROTT. Maybe a disservice to the stick but a service to me.

Temperature is 51 degrees Fahrenheit (10.6 C) with slight overcast/partly cloudy with the sun peaking through. Moisture is in the air. Humidity is 70%.

Construction looks great with no soft spots. The wrapper has a dull caramel look and lacks that oily sheen some of us clamor for. Perhaps a full thirty days in the humi will bring back some luster. The initial aroma smells of sweet hay with slight barn yard. Draw is a bit tight but has a sweet tobacco flavor with a touch of spice.

First Third: Light chocolate, light toasted tobacco, honey and hay. Seems to be the right size and flavor for a breakfast smoke. Light bodied and smoking great. Retro is smooth as all get out.

Second Third: First thing I notice is the burn is razor sharp. Ash is dark with a slight caramel tint. Spice has picked up through the retro and it tastes like toasted graham cracker. It went from light bodied to mild in the second third.

Final Third: The toasted graham cracker and toasted tobacco is still prevalent. All spice has left.

Final Score: 92. This stick is a joy to smoke all the way to the burn my fingers stage unlike some of the bigger RG cigars which can be a bit laborious.  Final smoke time 50 minutes. I’m grateful to find a box of these.

I have 3 boxes with this code, with 2 of them being tucked deep. They are so good already, and I believe will just become better and better with time. Not to mention the fact these haven't been made in almost 2yrs.....Super pick up. Enjoy them!!

I’ve read several times “I wish I would’ve grabbed a few boxes while I had the chance!” This is one of those times.

I really love this slim beauty! Too bad that I haven't seen them on 24:24 for long time. Maybe I should look FOH Auction (will be Bond Roberts on March 16) for getting LGC MdO4!
