Popular Post rcarlson Posted February 17, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2020 I've just recently discovered these. Not my prefered RG. So what? I am totally digging these. Rich, complex, balanced, densely and evenly packed, smooth oily wrapper, well-constructed . . . 1 1/2 hours of near bliss. The only complaint is that it struggled to remain lit at the half point. I blame it on the weather and slow pace of my smoking today. First half was medium to just under medium. Graham cracker was predominate. As it eased along, I got honey, espresso, leather and toasted mixed nuts. Second half predictably developed more strength as the smoke warmed. The espresso/coffee came in a bit stronger and it developed some cinnamon and earthiness. The graham cracker seemed to have a gravitational pull throughout. Toasted flavors I can't really identify and a very light sweetness sort of orbited the graham. Some here have described a fruitiness from the Mag 50. I didn't get that at all. I am an HU fan, and these have impressed, quite by surprise. It's not just a bigger Mag 46 or a longer Connie. It's its own man. A fine smoke. I give it an A. 11 1

I find 50s smoke true to the Upmann core profile in the 1st 4 to 5 years, then beyond that they can get quite sweet and fruity. I also don't like the size, but this is one of the few cigars I'm happy to break my own rules

I've got some Winnies cooling their heels. Any comparisons to the 50?
CptGoodTimes Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Nice review. I have the same box. I tried one after 30days of rest upon receiving them, & it was way too young. I tried again after hearing the recent chatter in the chat box. It has been well over 90days rest. I was stunned at how good it was. Better than a box from 2010. I’m a 90days rest believer now! 1
