madandana Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Dana and I are thinking about checking out Greece in September. Just starting my research. Looking for a seaside town with great bars, restaurants, shops. One of our favorite towns is Sitges Spain so something along that line. Not to big but big enough to have everything we need. We are not real big on excursions but what are the not to miss sight seeing things? I’ve already got a message into Yiorgos I know he’s from there. Thanks
yannis Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 check my hometown Thessaloniki, it s greece s second biggest city, on the coastline , near by is halkidiki ,best northern greece area, feels like an island, great sea side with pine trees finishing into the blue sea.so in 1h you will enter another world 2

Habana Mike Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Actually suggested that to Dana last June. We've been wanting to hit Greece for a few years now so may see you there! 1
bayala Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 I spent a day and a half in Heraklion, Crete . Ticked all the boxes you're looking for! 1
VRATJV07 Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 My wife is Greek and we plan on going to Greece this summer with our son just before his first birthday. She has family there that we will visit. We will be in Nafpaktos (near Patras) and Kardamyli (close to Kalamata). Both towns are on the water and very beautiful. Nafpaktos is more of a place that you visit if you are from there. Kardamyli is a hidden gem. The neighboring town of Stoupa is also great. Lefkada would be some place I would recommend also. Cheers! 1
JC67 Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 You can have a great holiday on an island named Kythira.. google it. Its low key, some of the best beaches in Greece, great food at locals prices.... very few tourists Before we went there i read a review that noted - whatever time you plan on staying in Kythira, Double it. https://www.cycladia.com/travel-guides-greece/kythira-guide-tips/ 1 1
