Popular Post CampDelta369 Posted January 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 19, 2020 Bolivar Silver Jubilee 2018 LGR JUN 19 (BRW) Good construction but a tad spongy feel which is reflected in the open draw. 1/3: Opens with black coffee and leather notes. Some woodiness on the edges. Smoke volume is good and medium finish. Not very Bolivar right now. 2/3: I do get some of the licorice referenced on other notes but not so much cocoa at all. At moments there is that malted sweetest I really like in the Bolivar. It’s quite enjoyable at the half and burning well despite the lighter fill. The first band comes off easy. 3/3: The flavors are building some what and I have more wood on the finish. Leather, malts, licorice, woods rule this third with some black pepper sprinkled in the mix. The burn has been getting better all along and it’s about perfect now. The second band comes off and some young mongrel takes over. So it’s over. Overall an 86 now for me and some aging would change that I expect. It doesn’t help my expectations when a young BRC a few weeks back blew me away. Cheers 14
havanaclub Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Nice honest review. I am excited to light mine up from the sampler. But it will wait. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wookie Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 I had a great experience with the Hong Kong Boli from the Sampler, but the Ramon Allones was not so great. I wonder if it's different palates or the actual cigars themselves?

The RA was good for me as well, but it wasn't sufficiently differentiated from most RASS that are a staple for me. So I think the price differential was the key for me. The Boli Hong Kong I smoked was ethereal....very much differentiated from many of the BBF and BRC I've been smoking.
