I certainly don't feel bad for them, but Its not a life I would want. It seems like it would be extremity unfulfilling. I'm glad that the "UK government" made the decision to block use of the name though. If you want to cut ties, cut ties. I hope they live happily and quietly (that's what they want right?) out of the spot light.

do either of them really strike anyone as the sort who don't want all the benefits of "celebrity" but not the pitfalls?

It feels to me like they want the Limelight and the attention, but only when and where it suits them. But it doesn't work like that.

I don't really care about the royal family one way or another, but I'm ready for these two to just go away.
