2019 is coming to a close.  Understood we are unlikely to see DIC 19 sticks for a couple of months but just wondering how people would rate 2019 as compared to the 14-18 years?

But they look ridiculously oily and dark.

I couldn't disagree more.

the dark in 2019 ranged from a deep rosado to colorado maduro. I saw very little true maduro/oscuro shades which were predominant  in the darker shades of14/15/16.

How 2019 ranks in the past 5 years?

In terms of quality, certainly ahead or 2017/18.

As good as if not better than 2014/15/16.

I've been here since early 2014, which means I've seen your stock from "model year" 2013 onwards, and the 2019 photos on 24:24 have been, on average, by far, the darkest and oiliest since then. It's stunning.

The development in low light mobile phone camera  technology has been remarkable.  This has a lot to do with it.

Trust me on this one. 2019 = Oily but not as dark, more Rosado/Colorado Maduro.  Construction at least on par with previous years.

100%. Whatever you use to take pictures is amazing. The pictures alone sell all the sticks

There is no doubt that darker wrappers are beautiful.  Through the years For me, though, it seems a deep rosado wrapper imparts better flavors.  Wholly subjective, based on your palate — I get it.  Anyone else notice the same thing?

My favourite wrappers are deep rosado colorado and shiny/oily colorado claro. The latter in quality is as rare as hens teeth

Prez, could you do a thread showing good pics of each of these coveted shades?  I'd love that.
