Since I became one of the Colibri V-cut users, I have a question about Colibri V-cut in terms of its max ring gauge. On the Colibri website, it can actually cut 60+ RG cigars with ease, but some folks said its can cut up to 60 RG on their Colibri V-Cut review. Like most of the FOH members, my max RG is 55, however, I just like to know whether it is able to cut 60+ RG sticks (e.g. Bazooka from Hector Luis Prieto) or not. ?

I have the Colibri v-cutter.  The blades are sharp. As long as the cigar fits into the cutter, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be able to handle 60+ RG.

However, the only real way to find out for yourself is to purchase a 60+ RG cigar and give it a go. And you can let us know after you find out.

Thanks! I think it will actually handle 60+ RG with ease, since Colibri stated it is capable enough to cut 60+ RG sticks. However, I'll do a Colibri V-Cut experiment with 60+ RG sticks when I write Colibri V-Cut review ?!

Right on, I look forward to seeing this.

I'll definitely test my Colibri V-Cut with 60+ sticks! ?

Once I cutted Nub 460 with Colibri. No problems, but I prefer puncher for 52+ RG

Thanks mate!

I think the opening is around 60 gauge, but because the heads of many cigars are tapered or rounded they advertise that it will cut 60+.  So... cutting a Nub might be easy while a CAO Flathead the same size may give you trouble.  I haven't actually measured the opening though, so I'm really just hazarding an educated guess

CCs don't have flathead nor box pressed (literally rectangular shaped) unlike NCs, so Colibri V-Cut will work on 60+RG CCs IMHO. Thanks for sharing your experience ?!

Didn't realize there were any 60 gauge CCs

edit: you mentioned Bazooka, but I've never seen one

Obviously, regular production CCs don't have 60+ RG except special relase and some custom rollls ?.

I saw Bazooka from Pandyboy's Hector Luis Prieto Trip video, and it definitely looked like super thick beef due to its massive 70 RG (has shaggy foot).

My 52s fit pretty tight. I'm sure you will find some way to smoke your 60. I am so happy I found the V-cut thread here. I can now get a proper draw without sucking the chrome off the trailer hitch so to speak. It ruins my nubbin lovin but it's a good compromise.

Glad you found my post helpful! I also feel glad since I became one of the owners of popular V-cutter, Colibri V-Cut ?! I found Colibri V-Cut can cut 60 RG sticks with ease on Colibri V-Cut reviews, so can't wait to use it with CCs!
