Montecristo No.2 ULA OCT 14 (OFRW)

Construction is perfecto as was every sample from this box to date. Beautiful smooth Colorado wrapper with a couple of veins.

1/3: lights up with the core notes of cocoa, coffee, cream with that twanginess that makes this a de facto CC for me. I get it right under the tongue left and right side like the sour of citrus or green hay but it’s the subtlety and contrast with the cocoa and coffee, cream that really makes it interesting. The retro Hale is delicious and starts mild-medium and delicate. The smoke volume is excellent with whitish grey ash holding firm.

2/3: I’m getting a bit of salt on the twang which is really in my wheelhouse. This is really nice and I have considered this box a special treat. I have shared a few of these with some friends and I always enjoy their reactions of disbelief. It’s starting to drizzle here in FL on the hotel patio, and there is no chance in hell I’m retreating inside. It’s rich tobacco bliss at the moment, so much so I find Reviewing this marca difficult as it’s distracting. So catch you on the last third...

3/3: Again, the Torcedor that rolled this box was on her game. I wish they were ALL my CCs rolled this well. intensity picks up slightly in last third with a just a perceptible touch of white pepper on the finish, and as I mention it, it’s gone. Strength is still under medium. The balance of flavors have been excellent. Nothing is being overstated in the blend. This third finishes medium Full which is another aspect I like about the No.2, the strength builds to the end so I can take it as far as I want to, and with a 90 minute smoke it’s about a perfect delivery for me.

Overall a solid 93+ and the best of the box so far. This is the reason I still chase this Marca. Thanks to @JohnSfor another great review and calling out the Monte 2 tonight. So I packed this “Old Faithful” last week in the travel dry box and @El Presidente posts a review thread on it this weekend? It’s a win win. Cheers
