I am embarrassed to say that this is now the fourth time I have paired the Por Larranaga Belicosos Extra RR Asia Pacific 2008 (EMA JUL08, from Box 19 of 7,400, which is not quite as good as Mini-Smithy shipping off Rob’s prized box, numbered 1 of 5000 of some RR or LE or other – never gets old), for Kenfessions. They have proved slightly variable, with the most recent, prior to here, the superstar of the bunch.   I had forgotten about mini smithy and the great box adventure! Not sure if it has faded into the past as much for Rob

I remember when Smithy was selling boxes 1-10 of the PL Belicosos Extra. Managed to snag box 8/7400. Just wish they had been rolled in August instead of July. Then it would have been Box 8, 08/08.

Don't know if I'll recall this box from the OLH and smoke them or auction it off.

Great review! Sounds like I need to find some Angostura No. 1 stat if I can. Whenever I hear "The flavours of the pair went hand in glove. Absolutely in sync." That's something worth seeking out.

I'm wondering if there's much difference between the 1st and 2nd edition with regards to quality?

guys, thanks for the posts. 

as for a difference, my understanding is that they are trying to create differences, not so much in quality, but because of what they are doing in the creation. so 1 and 2 different but the aim is to be equally exciting and then it will come down to personal preference.
